Aloe vera variety barbadensis is a potential alternative antimicrobial plant extract that has been widely used in humans. The objective of this study was to investigate the susceptibility selected bacterial isolates from cultured freshwater fish different concentrations crude extract. Using Minimum inhibitory concentration method by Broth dilution technique, diluted distilled water 250 mg/ml, 125mg/ml, 62.5mg/ml, 31.25mg.ml, 15.63mg/ml,7.85 3.93 mg/ml and 1.96 mg/ml. متن کاملStructural Modifications of Fructans in Aloe barbadensis Miller (Aloe Vera) Grown under Water Stress
Aloe barbadensis Miller (Aloe vera) has a Crassulaceae acid metabolism which grants the plant great tolerance to water restrictions. Carbohydrates such as acemannans and fructans are among the molecules responsible for tolerating water deficit in other plant species. Nevertheless, fructans, which are prebiotic compounds, have not been described nor studied in Aloe vera, whose leaf gel is known ...
متن کاملEvaluation of antioxidant potential of aloe vera (Aloe barbadensis miller) extracts.
The polysaccharide and flavonoid concentrations of two-, three-, and four-year-old Aloe vera were determined, and their antioxidant activities were evaluated compared to BHT and alpha-tocopherol by the DPPH radical scavenging method and the linoleic acid system at 100 microg of soluble solids per mL of ethanol. The results showed that three-year-old Aloe vera contained significantly higher leve...
